The car is in amazing condition! I've never seen a 15 year old car this good! Interior is immaculate. It has to be seen to be believed.
The handling of the car is amazing. It's been setup for track work and just grips to the road. I'm not going to use any corny cliche's - this thing just corners at high speed. The car just grips and turns without body roll, but the suspension is not overly hard at all. The LSD is very tight and puts power down to the ground through corners very well.
The car was imported by me in April 2004 and had all compliance work done by PVP Imports. The car has been serviced regularly (oil + filter changed every ~4000kms). All other fluids (gearbox, LSD) were changed when it got here. The timing belt has been inspected and it has been changed at some stage in its life - definitely not 15 years old. The car had a compression test done by PVP Imports in January this year, with an even 150psi across all 4 cylinders. The engine is in perfect condition - can't get any better than this! The car has been trouble free and has given great service. You also don't need to go fast to enjoy this car - cruising through the hills or along the beach with the top down is a blast. But when pressing on, it becomes clear that this is a real driver's car - compliant, predictable and devastatingly fast. This Miata is more than capable of seeing off performance cars many times its price.
The car is perfectly suitable as a daily driver, being reliable and easily maintainable in true Japanese fashion. It's also very happy as a weekend performance car, and won't shy away from track day events if that's your bent. I'm letting this great car go to make way for a Nissan Skyline R32 GTR, which will undoubtedly demand much of my time and, more critically, finances. But I will often miss the driving experience and satisfaction that this great car provides.
